LESSON AGREEMENT 2019-20
Welcome to the world of Percussion. As your teacher, I will guide you through the techniques in the art of percussion. We will need to incorporate the use of music other than that used in the school setting. As you progress, I will instruct you on which books you will need to purchase for lessons. Here is a list of requirements that you and your parents will need to read through and follow in order to make this a successful endeavor.
- Please be on time to lessons. I have allotted 23-28 minutes (depending on school schedules) per lesson and your time begins whether you are present or not. Other students will need to start when they have been instructed to and they have schedules to keep as you and I do.
- Call if you will miss a lesson. I would like to have notice the day before a lesson occurs, however, I understand that emergencies happen, you get sick or family situations occur. Please text me as soon as you know you will miss a lesson due to illness. (Tutoring and other planned activities are NOT emergencies; they will need a 24-hour notice.) Missed lessons with no cancellation, will be charged with no make-up. Likewise, I will notify you if I have a conflict and we will either make up the lesson or pro-rate the fee.
- Practice. I don’t think there could be anything more important to your success than this. If practice becomes an issue, and you come to lessons without having practiced then you are wasting my time, your parent’s time and money and we will not pursue lessons.
- Bring your instrument and all of your music to lesson. My job is to help you be successful in band as well as an individual player and I can only do this if you bring your music with you.
- Payment is due on the first lesson each month. (Lessons are $20.00) ……Late fee of $5.00 after the 8th of the month. Only pay for the days you will have lessons that month. Some months have 4 lessons some have 5.
- Should you decide to discontinue lessons, I will need a two-week notice. (You are responsible for the next two weeks of lessons if you quit.)
Lessons are a fun time to explore your chosen instrument and the exciting world of music. I hope that you will enjoy percussion as much as I do. You will have great success if you allow yourself to have fun, ask questions, and know that I am here to help you. Feel free to call me whenever you have questions about your instrument, classes, or lessons.
